Grampian Hospital Radio broadcasts to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Roxburghe House.
Radio Rainbow broadcasts to the Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital.
We provide a service of a more personal nature to patients in hospital, helping to cheer them up and provide a distraction from their illness.
Grampian Hospital Radio (GHR) is a registered Scottish charity - Registration No: SC002508. We are also a member of the Hospital Broadcasting Association.
At Grampian Hospital Radio and Radio Rainbow, we are always on the lookout for more volunteers to help keep our service going.
There is more to hospital radio then presenting shows, and members are expected to get involved in all aspects of the organisation.
-- Request Collecting
We pride ourselves in the personal service that we provide to patients.
Request collectors provide the "public face" of both GHR and Radio Rainbow, speaking to patients and finding out what music they would like to hear.
They also help to raise awareness of our service around the wards, and can sometimes be the only visitor the patient has that day.
